January 2019 to Present. Holy shit! What a journey. You don't realise how complacent and lazy you get in life until you look back and realise the work you are putting in is slowly paying off. By no means am i happy, but I'm far happier then I used to be. I used to get really anxious about people seeing the photo on the left of me, but now I couldn't give two fucks, life will always have people talk about you behind your back I've done this on my own, no coach, no nutritionist no nothing except countless hours of research and time spent living in the gym. UH HI, I withdrew from grad school literally 5 minutes ago‼️‼️ AND big announcement down below ⤵️ looking at myself right now this is not the Krystina that existed 8 months ago - she’s so much stronger now. I followed a path that I thought was expected of me and for a bit, I was happy. But now, I’m burnt out and thinking about graduate school PETRIFIED me. But that was the next step, so of course I just did it. Over the past couple of months I’ve noticed that I’ve lost touch with myself. I am distant mentally and emotionally because I am exhausted. And honestly now, I’ve never felt so alive and ready to take on what I love to do. So here is my big announcement for my 2020 goals because this is what makes things happen: • • - currently studying for my personal training & nutrition certification (gunna be a long process but I’m ready!!!) - starting a YouTube channel so I can get real chatty with my fam on here ❤️ - starting a podcast with my bff & it’ll be everything you’ve ever needed to hear 🥰 - blog posts at least once a month (hopefully more once I get my certification) -get my foot in the door with a gym & within the fitness/nutrition world -create a brand and name for myself that I’m proud of with a community of people that are ready to reach BIG goals 🤩 So YEAH hello here’s to being vulnerable and taking a huge risk/leap of faith. BODY DYSMORPHIA😫 . . Body Dysmorphia is a mental disorder characterized by the obsessive idea that some aspect of one's own body part or appearance is severely flawed. This then warrants exceptional measures to hide or fix their dysmorphic part on their person. BDD can be anything – from body weight, to skin, nose size, freckles to amount of muscle mass. First hand experience speaking, IT SUCKS. 🙃 . . BDD is hard to resist or control, obsessions can make it difficult for people with BDD to focus on anything but their percieved 'imperfections'. This can lead to low self-esteem, avoidance of social situations, & problems at work or school. It can lead to things like excessive exercise, surgeries, obsessions with food & social anxiety & avoidance. . . BDD is an incredibly difficult disorder to work through & requires rebuilding of body acceptance. Comparison, media, social media, bullying - all these things can impact and worsen someones thought patterns, body confidence & appearance. . . Coming out from things like competitions, cuts for photoshoots & any kind of caloric deficit/diet, will lead to the body changing. Some of the most effective ways to avoid BDD worsening is to; 1) Remember to love your body at all stages. 2) The body changes quick - know things are only temporary. 3) Food is fuel. Eat well to live well. 4) Remember, social media is always reality. These "influencers" aren't always legit. 5) If you are nearing the end of a ‘cut’ or dieting phase, you need to mentally prepare yourself for the changes that may occur & change goals to suit the phase that you are entering into. 6) Find methods and accountability to help with control. . . At MMM, we use macro tracking as a part of creating sustainability. We teach portion control, how to control urges & binges & the power of changing habits/routine. Today marks my 2 year anniversary of being medication free and considered having reversed my type 2 diabetes (as well as many other health issues). . I had to fight hard to get here and mostly against my own medical team who told me it couldn’t be done until I proved them wrong. . I am so forever and eternally grateful for those who showed me the way 🙏 I look forward to many more years and living the best version of myself free of diabetes and living a whole food plant way of life! 🌱 . I also look forward to helping others reverse their insulin resistance and living a life with better health and hope ❤️

[Unless watching the Notebook] @jasonphillipsisnutrition asked for someone to come to the 'hot seat' and I was like YES... I came to get the most out of this weekend so lets go! First he asked some tough questions, uncomfortable as expected.... Then, he told me exactly what I needed to hear. You're a badass, you're confident, you're a great coach and you know what you're doing. I sat there and just started to cry... the tears just kept coming. I talk about confidence daily. I talk about mindset daily. Yet recently I have struggled myself, trying to balance all the things in business and being a new mom, and I let little thoughts creep in... Can I really do this? What if I fail? As I kept digging deep into why I got so emotional... I uncovered that 𝑰 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒏 𝒎𝒚 𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝒘𝒂𝒚. Same way I did when I kept yo-yo dieting. sh*t. See these are the same thoughts I had when I was over 200lbs and it kept me stuck for a long time. They come from a place of fear. A place of self-doubt. Forget that, I know I'm made for more. Whatever you've been holding yourself back from, it's time to get out of your own way. Not Jan 1. Not next week. To-day. This day. You can lose the weight, change the habit, mend [or end] the relationship, get the job, whatever it is that you desire - you have the capabilities to do it! You just have to stop holding yourself back and 𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏. I am committed to killing any and all of the self-limiting thoughts & getting out of my own way...
