I am so excited about this cookbooks! Blue Zones are areas of the world where people live the longest in healthy and happy communities. The original book by @danbuettner spoke about diet but this new cookbook actually gives recipes! The book is #plantbased with simple recipes that revolve around beans and vegetables. Never do sumos, but after already hitting rdls this week I just needed an exercise similar to focus in on loading up my glutes and hamstrings with a small glute emphasis cos my hammy has been shit lately from too many nordics and not enough 🍑 stuff. - So quick couple examples on variation. - Variations of lifts -> 1. Make the lift fit the person, don't fit the person to the lift. 2. Have progressions and regressions for all exercises, if you can't then it's not a valuable part of your program. It's simple, regressions should allow them to get into the desired position or close to, and a progression should be a new stimulus to challenge the client either being more difficult or just a different variation. - Some basic progression/regression examples ⬇️ - Deadlifts: 1. Can't hit bottom position with neutral spine = trap bar deadlift or rack pulls. 2. Need a progression or new stimulus = sumo stance, deficit pulls, bands/chains etc. - Squats: 1. Can't achieve full range of motion = plate under heels, goblet variation for counter balance, squat to box or go single leg. 2. Progression or new stimulus = bands/chains, front rack, overhead, paused at bottom, squat jumps. - These are just an example but there's a pattern to them the same with each exercise. - You need to have regressions and progressions + variations in your exercises they help reduce the monotony of training, keep things from going stale and add new stimulus to the system. - - - - #strengthtraining #deadlift #strong #power #training #hardwork #fast #sport #healthy

My body feels deep gratitude for the training that has started again. In the past, I was a sprinter, dancer and softball player. I graduated from the Moscow’s University of Physical Culture( Russia) as a coach and sports therapist. But at the end as soon I went to India and completely switched to spiritual #practices , healing Art and kundalini yoga practice . And during these 14 years I did not go to the @gym at all. Only yoga and occasional hikes. My body did not have enough physical activity. But just recently, I realized that for personal #spiritual #growth of the #transformation of consciousness at all levels of being, it is essential to train and #balance not only your #mind, #spirit, and #soul, but also the #body, which is the sacred temple , a sacred instrument, vehicle in this physical reality. And this is important to apply it that way and maintain balance, Body, Psyche, Soul, Mind, Spirit. We are multidimensional beings who live such expirience in Human Bodies. In order to fully embody this Divine Light and Divine Power who I Am, this is very important to be #physically #strong and #healthy and to be #mindful about our #diet also. To start... here’s a quick shoulder workout I did today when I got home from work & before I went to Zaiden’s parent teacher conference. He’s doing soooo good, btw. Give this workout a try & let me know how it goes for you. Do 3-5 sets of each exercise with minimal rest. 1: 15 reps 2: 10 on each side- Drop to your knee if you need to 3: 15 reps- Try to stack your hips over your shoulders 4: 15 reps- I like to do these kneeling because it takes some of the momentum out 5: 15 reps- Ignore my RBF. 🐟🐟Healthy Tuna Salad 🐟🐟 As much as I wanted my first post to be an artsy, colorful masterpiece, it turns out that I am a horrid photographer... However, I do think this is an opportunity to address some misconceptions about healthy eating. For starters, it doesn’t have to be colorful! Yes, it is important to balance your meals with nutritious vegetables, healthy fats, and protein, but it doesn’t have to always look as pretty as it tastes! Nor does every meal have to be green, taste bland, or consist solely of vegetables. You simply shouldn’t dread eating, it only leads to binge episodes! As a lover of tuna salad, I often find myself craving it, but with store bought and restaurant made recipes consisting mostly of mayo, I knew I had to find an alternative. This recipe is my favorite yet. As I said above, eating doesn’t have to be boring, and cravings don’t have to be ignored! Everything can be modified if one has enough patience. So, without further ado, the recipe: Tuna Ingredients: • 1 can of tuna • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar • 8 Cherry tomatoes • 1 tbs Feta cheese • 1/8 Onion • Garlic salt • Onion powder • Pepper •Parsley Salad base ingredients (optional): • 1/4 cucumber • 1 aroma tomato • Arugula • 1/2 of a lemon’s juice • Salt and Pepper Steps: 1. Drain tuna, and mash in bowl to preferred texture. 2. Chop onions and tomatoes, and add to tuna mixture with crumbled feta 3. Season to taste with garlic salt, pepper, onion powder, and parsley, careful not to overdo it 4. Add red wine vinegar to preferred taste (can be very tart if overdone) and mix well If you simply want the tuna, that’s it! I prefer to eat it with the salad below, or stuff a low calorie pita with arugula and the tuna mixture. Continue below if a salad is preferred. 5. Arrange arugula in a bowl 6. Slice Roma tomato and cucumber thickly, and layer on top of arugula 7. Salt and pepper lightly, squeezing lemon juice over the salad 8. Serve tuna on top That’s it! Well everyone I hit another milestone in my fitness/strength journey!! 💪 Finally hit a huge PR with a 365 pound paused bench press. It has taken me a solid 11 years to go from a 95 pound bench press to 365 pound bench press. I'm super stoked and this was truly an incredible accomplishment for me. 405 is getting that much closer and hopefully I will crack that number in the next year or two. 😁 This bench press session was 2x10 135, 1x10 185, 1x5 225, 1x2 275, 1x2 315, 345 single, 365 single PR, 1x5 315 PR, 1x10 275 PR, 1x23 225 PR. 🤘 Every set was paused except for 1x5 225 and 1x23 225! ✊ BW is 215 currently.
