Name: Tala Asmar
Age: 19 years old
Time in Nusa Penida: 3 weeks
She might be young, but 19 year old Tala has many years of love in her heart and the world on her shoulders, supportive, committed and kind she manages to find herself helping creatures and humans to the next level.
Tala arrived in Bali as her home life was stressing her, she felt she had lost herself and needed to take some time to get away from the pressure she feels, she had been to Bali with her family in the past but on a family holiday wasn't able to spend as much time with the locals as she wanted so to clear her head she chose to come back and insert herself into the culture.
Tala chose the turtle project as she wishes to be a vet "turtles amaze me, they are so little and so strong, the babies know what they need to do, if I was a turtle I would just die, but they survive, they teach us no matter how lost we are we can find a way". Tala wanted to experience animals outside of the standard cats and dogs she would be likely to treat, ironically she became number one mum to a very sickly little kitten (Tuki), she was up every few hours feeding him, caring for him, and spreading her time between turtles and raising this little guy to be a strong big cat. "Watching him grow strong and now he has hair on his little paws it makes me so happy, I needed this time here, all of it, it was so therapeutic and wonderful, I loved it all, but I really love the bonfires, all together, we feel like a family here especially you Anna, your story really touches me and I admire you and so many people here"
Tala I look forward with anticipation for our paths to cross again. *Tuki still grows bigger every day and is being hand raised by the volunteers*
